National Forklift Safety Day

As professionals in the workplace safety industry, we observed World Day for Safety and Health at Work a few months ago. On June 14, we are even more excited to observe National Forklift Safety Day! We know not everyone is as excited as we are but there are plenty of warehouse managers, facility managers, EHS directors, forklift drivers, and victims of forklift accidents that are very passionate about the awareness of forklift safety.

National Forklift Day is fairly new. In 2014, the Industrial Truck Association founded National Forklift Safety Day to highlight the safe use of forklifts and serve as an annual reminder to provide opportunities for manufacturing, warehouses, logistics, and other industries that rely on forklifts to reassess their forklift training and safety guidelines. How recently have you reviewed your safety guidelines? What are your training processes and procedures? What types of safety measures do you have in place?

It’s true, we get pretty excited about workplace safety and especially forklift safety but as it turns out, there are quite a few others excited to celebrate National Forklift Safety Day too. We found a few interesting events and offers to observe National Forklift Safety Day. Check these out:

  • Toyota Forklifts Dealers across the United States and Canada will offer no-cost safety surveys for customers.
  • The Industrial Truck Association (ITA) is excited to be able to host this year’s celebration in person and live online with amazing speakers like Chuck Pascarelli, President, Americas, Hyster-Yale Group, Douglas Parker, Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA), Jonathan Dawley, President & CEO, KION North America, and others.
